Do you have songs for your pets?

When I was a little girl my mother, brother & I used to make up songs for our dogs. We would sing the songs to the dogs when we were in a silly mood or feeling cutesie. We had this one tea cup poodle named Coco who would dance anytime she heard her song.

I apparently have continued that tradition as a full grown 34 year old woman I'm sure (and desperately hoping) that I am not the only one to do this. DH has even gotten into the act and made up a few of his own. For our 7 yr old bully, she has her own original tunes. Our mixed pup uses the melody from 'Oh, Danny Boy' w/a change of words.

Anyone else?

hahah yes! DH and I both do... they don't have a "signature song" usually just a made up silly rhyme or like you said, words changed to a familiar song

i.e : Jingle bells, Nutley smells, Goober laid an egg

they love it

I constantly sing to them. DH also does it too because he's so used to hearing me. Almost every song on the radio is changed to go with my dogs names...

Fred - my pin pin, one of his nicknames is Mold...

YES!! I sing the party rock anthem to cosmo when its on the radio.

I sing "Cosmo Morgan's in the house tonight"

and then "We just wanna see you- wag that tail"

And my favorite part: "every day I'm barking" and then I bark along with the song.

That's just one song. You should hear my rendition of Adele dedicated to my dog.

I have serious issues.

Yup. It's called the Hello Puppy song. LOL

Plus his kennel name name is the song I'm Yours. His breeder insists that all her pups kennel names are songs and I really like that one. Whenever it comes on I think of him or sing it to him if he's with me.

Oh so many....would not know where to begin.

My 3 year old copies me now...it's hysterical.

I call my 2 dogs Snuckleberry and Huckleberry...she calls them that now too. LOL

Love making up songs about them.

Constantly!
Of course I sing "Hey there Delilah" to Delilah all the time...
but when the radio is on in the hosue.. i'm changing lyrics all the time to sing to the kids..

Yes. Every time we sing a song on the radio, we add our pets' names in and change the lyrics to match them lol

We have a special song for our Oliver though....it's a bit silly, and I don't really know where it came from...but it goes, "Mr. Ver, Mr. Ver, He's the smartest Ver I know. Mr. Ver."

"Who let the dogs out" is sung alot too...my niece has added to both

Ha! I do this for all 3 of my chihuahuas-makes my DH nuts! They all have a Lady Gaga song dedicated to them. Bella, who we also call Peep, I sing "Peep-a-razzi" to, Uno has "Unie-andro" and Guinness I sing "Edge of Guinness" to. Also, I insert all their names into the Flo-Rida song "I Get A Good Feeling" ex "Ohhh sometimes...Peep gets a good feeling" Glad to know I'm not alone!!!

so funny, for a few seconds i totally forgot we do this all the time because its so second nature and normal for us, lol... we usually do like funny rap or pop songs for the cats like for one of them who does everything in his power to get rfed, well do, "every day im hustlin, hustlin hustlin"..our other cats is a playboy in our minds so well do "im sexy and i know it" or something like that..sometimes i take their paws and make them dance along too ...oh but when we sign the songs, it in the voice as if they are singing the song themself and its in the voice we think is theirs if they could talk.
