Sahm on WW

I'm trying to see if maybe we can start a thread on using ww and being sahms. I am finding it more difficut to stay on track being food is always available, plus I gave up a lot of activity when I decided to stay home (i was a teacher before). Anyone else?

Re: Sahm on WW

Right there with you. I started ww last January & did really well until May when I fell off the wagon & now I'm back to it. I find the best option with snacks is to divide them up into ziploc bags & keep them in a place where you see them so you are not rummaging through closets & end up eating something you regret. I keep fresh fruit on the counters too so its the first.thing I see in my kitchen.

Now that its colder, I'm limited with the walks I take with the boys but I try to get thrm out even if its walking the mall. I just started the 30 minute shred last night after they are in bed. Definitely not what I truly want to do after being exhausted but only option for me.

I also find it helpful to take a Sharpie marker and mark the points values on the items as i bring them in from the store. For the most part, I buy the same foods so it doesn't take long at all. How do you like the 30 Day Shred? I am thinking about incorporating it. I've been walking on nice days and want to start using my exercise videos, Wii Fit and my elliptical (once it arrives). Hopefully it comes off!

I do the same with the sharpie. I love the 30 day shred. Actually lost inches the last time I used it. I'm not into the elliptical or treadmill bc I get too bored. I want to get EA active for ps 3

Re: Sahm on WW

I just did WW and I am a SAHM. It is hard but part of dieting is definitely will power no matter what diet you are on. Once you find a basic daily routine, it gets boring, but it also works. Good luck!

What are your work out routines? I'm a sahm and working out is tough with a 2 yr old who doesn't nap anymore and a 9 month old.

I can wake up at 6 am (my 2 yr old wakes up around 7) but I'm exhausted from waking up in the middle of the night with my 9 month old. Dh leaves at 430 am and has yet to come home from work (it's 7pm).

I used to work out pretty much every day b4 i had children and walked during the nicer days

I am really motivated to loose weight on ww but feel lack of exercise isn't going to make it happen

Same with me. I am on WW now, but only started when DD started preschool b/c I just didnt have the time or head when I was with her all day, every day.

I dont work out one bit and have lost 1-2 lbs a week since starting WW (on the weeks I followed perfectly). So I do believe it works even without exercise.

I've lost 37 lbs in the past 8 months with ww without exercising at all...its totally possible! I find it very hard to find the time or energy to exercise with my kids with me all day...however, that is one of my new years resolutions, even if its only a few minutes a day of me moving.
