Textbooks for Nysut classes
If you have taken a week long class through NYSUT, do you normally buy the textbook? The last class I took, a lot of people didn't bother buying the book and it worked out fine. They did not care that they didn't have it. I know if I did that, we would need the book every second of the class... I will probably just end up doing a 30 day rental even though it's a lot of money, but I wanted to see if other teachers didn't buy the textbook. Thanks!!

I've taken about 15 NYSUT classes and was never once asked to buy a textbook! You mean, the big 500-page binder they give you? That's included in the cost of the class isn't it?

NYSUT makes you buy your own textbooks now... They started doing that in the fall. I hate it!

I didn't buy it for the last class I took. Wasn't a problem because I was inservice and didn't have to do any out of class work. The instructor had us do all in class work for grad students too. So in the end I don't think it was a problem. But we did have to share books though.

ugh really?? i have a cyberbullying text book for sale then if anyone wants it! lol
