Anxiety over joining WW
I don't know why, but I have such anxiety of joining WW. I need to lose weight and get healthy. DS is 11 weeks old and I go back to work in two weeks and I feel gross. I am a pretty good eater but I have gained to much weight during both my pregnancies and feel like I have reached a breaking point. I hate having my picture taken and I hate every picture I am in. I feel so old and embarrassed about my body. Plus I am tired all the time. I am not obese by any means but not comfortable in the skin I am in.
With that being said, I am just so torn about joining WW. So many people on here have had amazing results but I am so nervous that I am going to fail. I also think I am scared of the accountablity, counting points etc. There are meetings in my town, but I feel that I don't want people to know my business. Plus DH is very money concious and soooooo thin, that he just doesn't understand spending the money. He just bought me an elliptical for xmas, so he will say just use that and eat better. I don't know, I just feel like I need more. I love to eat and cook but know I need to do something to balance it.
Comments, suggestions, inspiration needed!!!

Re: Anxiety over joining WW
You can do it!
I know it seems overwhleming at first, but it will be ok. I have literally been on and off it for years, lost and regained so many times. I just pick myself up and get back on the wagon.
You don't have to do a 360 b/c I find when I take things to the extreme, it's not sustainable. It really is about the small things and building from there. Cooking and eating at home more, swapping out better food choices, taking a walk. (Although I am the first to admit how difficult the exercise component is for me).
As for the $ aspect, it's not inexpensive but I'll be honest and tell you that I've quit before and ended up going back. WW keeps me accountable by weighing in every week and that's huge for me. It's $ well spent and I'm sure you'll find that to be the case as well.
Wishing you the best of luck and hope you reach all your 2012 goals, health and otherwise.

Re: Anxiety over joining WW
If you follow the program - you will lose! It's pretty much fool proof I had had lots of success wit WW in the past, if you can I really suggest going to meetings, it will motivate you more.
Right now I am doing the 17 day diet because to be honest with you I really cant afford WW right now. I was doing the online version and I wasn't losing - but I cheated A LOT. That's why I think it's better to go to weigh in at the center because you are held more accountable.
I have a real sugar/carb additction so I wanted to kick start my weight loss and follow a more structured program and so far I've lost 15lbs on the 17 day diet.
I really like WW though - I think you will find it very motivating - give it a try!!

Re: Anxiety over joining WW
I could have written your post word for word 8+ months ago. I always wanted to join WW but i was scared of going to the meetings alone, and then I was scared off by the tediousness of counting points and measuring. Finally I was asked to join with someone and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself! I've lost almost 40lbs in those short months and totally changed my approach to food. I finally enjoy taking pictures (especially with my husband and kids) and I find that I have so much more energy. It sounds like you are a pretty healthy eater to begin with, and with little to lose you shouldn't have a problem with the program. Definitely give it a try! I don't think you will regret it!

You can do it! Do you have someone you can go with?
I go to Greenlawn on Sat. AMs.
I go by myself, but, if you or anyone here wants/needs a partner...FM me!

Re: Anxiety over joining WW
I joined a long time ago online but stopped because I wasn't really following it and felt it was wasted $$$.
But maybe you could do that if you are not comfortable going by yourself, and that option still exists.
