My extended family is getting its 7th set of twins!!!!!
Twins don't just run in my family - they RACE!
My dad is one of 8 children.
He's an identical twin (set #1)
He also has a set of fraternal twin brothers (set #2).
One of his fraternal twin brothers has a set of fraternal twins (#3) and is also the grandfather to a set of fraternal twins (#4)
My dad's sister is the grandmother to a set of fraternal twins (#5)
My dad is also a proud grandfather to my fraternal twins (#6)
. . . and now another of his brothers will be grandfather to twins! (#7)
So of 8 children, 4 of them are/will be grandparents to twins.
one set was the product of IVF - the rest are natural/spontaneous (I forgot the term).

That's like our family! Starting from my great-grandfather down to me, there are 11 sets of twins, we make the 12th set... there are two sets of identicals. And all are spontaneous. 
My paternal great-gpa was a fraternal
My paternal gpa was a fraternal
My bros are identical
I'm having fraternals...
My maternal gpa's brother two brothers have a total of THREE sets of fraternal twins
My maternal gma's 3 sisters each have a set of fraternals...
So needless to say, it was written in the stars for me...

That's like our family! Starting from my great-grandfather down to me, there are 11 sets of twins, we make the 12th set... there are two sets of identicals. And all are spontaneous.

WOW!!!!! My family will have to start having more sets to catch up to yours!!!
Is there a trend in your family regarding the twins (more boys, more girls, more boy/girl). I was convinced that my twins were twin boys because most of the sets were 2 boys. . . but I was wrong. I have two girls.

That is crazy!!
I have an a set of identical twins. My dad has fraternal twin sisters. And his maternal grandmother had an identical twin. All of the twins in my family have been spontaneous (not IVF)
So my girls are the third set of twins in our family. My mom has no history of twins and neither does DHs family.

I kind of hoped I would have the boy/girl combo since I'm the only granddaughter in my family - it's only me and my mom as the females in the bloodline. BUT! It all depended on DH and his family is male dominated.
