for anyone that has had a dvt
hey!
i am assuming this answer can vary but i am just curious
how long did it take for the dvt to go away
dha nd i have been trying to have a baby for a long time and we were starting a ivf cycle when i got the clot
my hemo said i needed to be on meds for at least 3 months until i could have another ultrasound to see if it has gone away
and he will nto clear us for ivf until it is gone
i have the scan at the end of the month
what are my odds it is gone i need it to be gone so bad!
thanks

Re: for anyone that has had a dvt
My PEs were gone at a CT scan I had at 5 months - but my Dr didn't let me off the blood thinners until 9 months.
ETA, not what you want to hear but for some people it never goes away. It just attaches to the wall of the vein and the body builds other pathways to bypass it if necessary. Not sure what the dr would do in that case.
Check out dailystrength.org's DVT forum, I think someone asked this question recently.
