Not sure which board to post on
Does anyone's DH have sleep apenea?
I am convinced that my DH does and he needs to see a Dr.
He is an obnoxiously loud snorer, he stops breathing for more than 10 seconds during those snores, he tosses and turns all night long, and he keeps me up.
I'm exhausted because I was up until almost 2:00am trying to get into a deep sleep but couldn't because his snoring was waking me up.
Tapping him or making him turn to his side to stop snoring use to work. I've even had to use a white noise machine some nights to drown it out a bit.
If anyone has any experience with this can you recommend a Dr? We're in Queens, but I'm open to whom ever at this point. I need sleep

Should probably go on the Health forum. There's several discussions there about apnea, including many posts I've put up about my own experiences.
I've snored since I was very young, but when I started gasping in my sleep, DW made me get it taken care of. I went to a Sleep Study center in Smithtown, and found out that I stopped breathing an average of 84 times an hour.....
I couldn't function with a CPAP machine (my brother is using one, though), but my oral appliance is working wonders for me. It pushes the lower jaw forward, which opens up the throat.

Thanks for the info...DH DEFINATELY gasps and stops breathing all night long. Some times I lay there counting the seconds until he breathes. Its very scary.
I'll xpost to the health as well

Here's the search results for Apnea threads in the Health forum. You can browse through some of those threads and get a lot of good info. Feel free to FM me if you have any other questions.
