ever wonder...
what you would do if you didn't teach?
Yep, that is the boat I am in right now. I have no idea what else I would do though.

Re: ever wonder...
I would want to go back to school and look into becoming a PA or a NP - those are the only other things that interests me.

Same exact thing here. I hope to be able to go back to school in the future to pursue that career.

I would have gone into television, maybe a news caster. I also had wanted to go to school to be a lawyer and work on international law...I had big dreams as a college student. Not that I don't like teaching, I just don't love it like I use to.

Re: ever wonder...
I was interested in Pharmacy and architecture going from HS to college...A friend asked me to take an intro to teaching class and it clicked.

Re: ever wonder...
I got a degree in writing, before the internet was, well, the internet. My friends who finished 1-2 years after me got into web-related media and writing in the early days, when I was already teaching. I did really like the idea of teaching too and that seemed more stable.
However, I am leaving in June to see if I can make money writing. I landed a couple freelance jobs and started a small business. We'll see- but I am determined to make this work. I just see too many things happening in education I disagree with, and I am getting burned out. I don't want to be one of "those" teachers and want to leave while I still like kids.
