TMI warning-hemorrhoids

Ok so the past few weeks I have been constipated, still go every day but I have been straining and pushing too hard. Its been very painful and the past week noticing some blood on toilet paper. The past 2 days there has been alot of blood after going #2.

Went to dr today, he said he thinks its an internal hemorrhoid. Gave me a script for a stool softener and told me to go to a gastro which I'm doing on thur.

I've been nervous though bc the blood has been alot more the past 2 days.

Has anyone ever had this before??

Sounds normal. I get this too. It's not a lot though... But it is bright red. Dr. said that is usually superficial blood from say a hemorroid and not blood in the actual stool which would signify a more serious problem. Good luck.

I have the same issue, and have had it for years. YEARS. I find that if I drink a lot of water, it makes a huge difference. After 3 or 4 years of this (no exaggeration) I had a colonoscopy to make sure nothing was really wrong, and that was in 2008. Just internal hermorrhoids. Doctor told me to drink more water and to take Benefiber. So... it's just something I live with. You've only had it for 2 days - I think you're okay!
