lab lost my sample
So, a few weeks ago, I found a lump in my left boob. Combined with the discharge that I had been having since stopping nursing (dec 2010), i went to get it checked. They took a sample of discharge and sent me for a mammo and ultrasound of both boobs just in case. The lump in my left boob looks like a cyst based on the US. But, they found a mass in my right boob. They think it's a fibroadenoma, but I got a birads cat 3, which means probably benign, not definitely benign. I thought the results from the discharge would help clear things up, but I found out today that the lab lost my sample! so, now I have to go back soon to give another sample and wait another week for those results. In the meantime, I have to pick up my scans and go see a breast specialist. Plus, in between all this, I ended up back at the same dr for a ruptured ovarian cyst. If I had known about the lost sample, i could have given it then. I know I'm just complaining...I AM very grateful that desipte all this, I am what seems to be healthy. I just sometimes feel like going to the dr is it's own part time job for me. In the past year or so I've had major spinal surgery (which included countless dr trips before and after), lyme disease that had me at drs, in the hospital, and unable to get off my couch for almost a month, a heart scare, and now this! i'm hoping for fewer medical scares/issues this year!

Re: lab lost my sample
wow what a journey
a hospital lost a fluid sample from my father's lungs years ago. it was a holiday weekend and the hospital is for the birds (actually i wouldnt send birds there but i digress) so i know what you mean about losing samples. The delight of human error.
as for your medical issues i've also had some major issues going on for almost 2 years that i'm dealing with visit-by-visit, and yes it wears you out. for a great 2012
