Spinoff to maternity leave~
where can I get info on what exactly goes on through FMLA...
I know its a min. of 6 weeks paid and 6 weeks unpaid (a total of them holding your position for 12 weeks)
But how do I find out what the exact amount of money the paid is..??? Is it a dollar amount??? A percentage of what you make????
Also I have to use the rest of my vacation time...My boss was telling me I should get rid of it before September..because my leave is based on how many hours WORKED (not paid) the month before I go out...
Friends have told me differently..Who knows when this baby will decide to come...how do I know when I need to use it by??
Im so confused... some info...or a phone number would be great!!!!!

Re: Spinoff to maternity leave~
Does your company offer disability? That is what I am getting- You are entitled to 6 weeks short term disablity for natural birth and 8 weeks for a C-section. Then the FMLA kicks in. Most companies allow you to take 12 weeks total. That would be the combination of short term disablity and then the FMLA
I had a C-section so I am getting 8 weeks paid and then 4 weeks unpaid. Actually disablity doesn't pay you for the first week so I am actually getting 7 weeks paid. I get a check from the state (which everyone gets $170) and then another check (which is 66 % of my salary- untaxed) They both come on the same day- different envelopes but both from the disablity insurance that my company offers.
Hope that helps!
