Greyhound rescue needs volunteers.....
To help bathe the Greyts coming in.
LIGR
THe LI greyhound rescue is a wonderful organization that finds homes for ex racing greyhounds.
GH are couch potatoes that are very docile. They are amazing dogs.

I will check this out... I have been looking for a way to volunteer, but do not have the time or the money for fostering. This is a great alternative, thanks!
ETA: Is there a way to RSVP for this? I did not see a way on the site...

not to hijack but if someone is interesed in volunteering w/ multiple organizations, the rescue group that i am involved w/ are DESPERATE for home visit evaluators on LI. visit Labs 4 Rescue for more info.

Awsome, I DEFINITELY want to get involved with something. I tried to get in touch with guide dogs foundation, as they were lookng for dog socializers, but noone ever got back to me...soooo..off to where I am needed.
PLUS...I want to find just the right second dog for our family. Hoping if I volunteer, and really get to know a dog, I'll find our next furchild.
My uncle does training for shelter dogs in Florida at a kill shelter...to me that is true love, I just don't know if I could do that.....

That's where I got my dog from. It's a really great organization, and greyhounds are definately awesome dogs. Mine is definately a couch potato (sleeps all the time) and he's such a mush!
