My Story

I have been sitting here at my computer trying to decide if I should tell my story. I think I want to share because it will help me deal with my loss. I also want to share because if anyone is going through a similar experience, I want you to know you are not alone.

My husband and I were pregnant with triplets. We were so excited to know we were going to be having 2 twin girls and 1 boy. We knew it was going to be crazy but we were thrilled. I was have a good pregnancy until I was put on bedrest at 21 weeks. I started having pains and was admitted to the hospital in December at 23 weeks. The sac that held my girls had too much fluid in it. Eventually it burst and I started showing signs of an infection. My water broke and I was in labor. I was told that I had to deliver my triplets at 23 weeks. I was in labor and having contractions for 12 hours. I was told that the odds of my babies making it were not very good. Even if they did make it, they would most likely have health issues. After I delivered my triplets, I found out that none of them made it. This was the hardest thing that I have ever had to go through. I am thankful at least that I got to hold them. I know that my health was jeopardy but it's just not fair. I loved them so much. I read to them in my belly every day. It just breaks my heart that I don't have my babies home with me. I will always keep my three little angels in my heart.

Eventually, my husband and I would like to try again. We just need to wait until we are emotionally ready to try again.

Re: My Story

I am so incredibly sorry to read your story. So many hugs to you...

My 1st daughter, Sarah Marie, was stillborn at 38.5 weeks in Nov of 2009...Not a day goes by that I don't think of her and miss her. I know that our situations are different, but please, if you need to vent, talk, or just want someone to listen, FM me any time. I know that the pain must feel unbearable at times...but know that you will get through it. What helped me was understanding that my life would never be the same - that I would now have a new "normal" in a sense...and that no one could ever expect me to be the same person I had been. I don't want to say that things get better, because I always feel that "better" isn't the right word for it, but, you will get through things.

I'll be keeping you, your dh, and your 3 precious angels in my thoughts and heart...

Re: My Story

I am so sorry for your losses.

My son Ryan was born at 21w5d last May. At first they didn't know why I went into premature labor or why my water broke. I had a full term pregnancy with my first son. It came back that there was an infection. They found out months later that my appendix had ruptured and caused the infection.

Today it's 9 months since he was born and it was a tough day. Like Jillian said it doesn't get "better" but you learn to make it through the day. Some are easier than others.

If you need anything please feel free to FM me. You can also check out my blog. www.missingmysweetboy.blogspot.com

Re: My Story

Wow.. i don't even know what to say Chat Icon I am so sorry you are going through this. A little about my story... I lost my son at 17wk3d pregnant.. then went on to conceive triplets as well, but I lost them just shy of 8wks. I then got pregnant again and lost the baby at around the same time as the triplets. Words don't begin to express how horrible any of this is... All I can say is, time does make it easier to move forward. Chat Icon The women on here are SO supportive. It truly makes a difference.

One thing that helped me in the short term after we lost my first baby was having something physical to remember him by. I have a ring with his birth stone (the month he was due.. )

Thank you so much for all of your support. Sometimes I think it just helps to talk about what happened. The hospital put together a box with their pictures and footprints. I haven't looked in the box yet, but it helps to know its there.

I was going to post agreeing with Pennycat about having something physical, and then I saw this post...I have a bracelet that has my daughter's footprints on them. It's from this site:

My Forever Child

I believe you just have to email them a picture/scan of the footprints and they will etch them into whatever you have picked.

Sometimes, just looking at her actual footprints on there gives me a sense of calm. Just wanted to give you that suggestion incase you were looking for something.

This is a wonderful idea. I have a necklace from this company and I love it. I wear it everyday and I love seeing Ryan's name on it.
