How often (Poll)

How often do you walk your dog? On average, we walk them 1x/day and they run around in the backyard several times a day. We have a nice size backyard but I wonder if we should be walking them more and how often most people do. TIA!

Now that we have a house with a fenced in yard, we mainly play there and Murphy gets plenty of exercise catching his balls and frisbees.

I walk her twice a day... sometimes 3. But, we're in an apartment, so no backyard.

ETA: we usually take her out once or twice more just to go to the bathroom quickly... but no walk.

not as much as i should, well actually never. he is VERY strong and powerful and is not very obedient on a leash. i bought the gentle leadrer and the prong collar so i am hoping that i can use these as a training tool. i also enrolled in obedience classes so i can learn how to "formally" train him to leash walk.

he exercises at least an hour a day either at the dog park (sometimes for 2 + hours) or in the backyard.

I try to walk him at least 1x a day, but we have 1/2 acre fully fenced, so we play a lot.

If I am really really lazy, I just keep throwing the ball out the back door, and let him fetch..I know bad mommy

But my favorite and his favorite thing to do is I hop on my bike, and round and round the house we go, he chases me til he's tuckered out,,, LOL I am SURE I look like an idiot doing this.

Plus Barnes goes to Doggie day care once a week for funnnn!!

I take Ebony to the park almost every day. We walk about a mile (and yes he foams at the mouth - that's how they sweat).

I also walk him at least once more, in the evening.

He doesn't poop in the yard, he knows that is for when he goes for a walk. Sometimes we will go for 2 walks and the park as well....

We have a fenced in backyard but we walk her several times a week. She is a Jack Russell Puppy, SHE MUST EXERCISE or we pay the price.

I let them run around the back yard for hours (weather permitting). I don't really leash walk them b/c I am too close to Sunrise Highway & there are only 4 houses on my block, so I feel it is safer for them just to run in the yard. We spend most of our time out there anyway, so it works for all of us!

When we lived in our apartment, we would walk them 3 - 4 times a day.
