Catering from Grimaldi's - Garden City
anyone have any experience with having food catered from grimaldi's? i know their pizza is awesome, but what about their pastas? wondering because they are extremely well-priced compared to other places.
thanks!
ETA: if anyone has other suggestions for italian food catering, i'm all ears. thanks!

i personally did not like their food at all.. but then again i more or less grew up on the Grimaldi's in brooklyn.
when i moved out to LI i went there and walked out mid meal.
they were rude and the food sucked... IMHO
i prefer Piccalos or Matteos if you plan on getting something catered.

thank you! i'm always weary of places that are well known for their pizzas only. i will check out the others!

We only get pizza from there - as do most of the people we know. I don't know anyone who has gotten catering from there. You could go and try out the food and see before you consider it.
As far as how they are - I know a lot of people who go there - maybe we were lucky but they have been nothing but nice and accommodating to us (giving us a larger booth when the girls wanted a booth rather than a table etc). But we only go and have pizza and I don't eat pasta so I can't speak about anything aside from the pizza.

We had my son's 1st birthday there. Pizza, salads, calzones, etc. were DELISH! I'm not sure what their regular food is like, but we usually use Mama Theresa's for large parties. Their food is delicious!!! There is one in New Hyde Park, Westbury and East Meadow. Highly recommend them!
