totally bummed
just found out that my library will be closing for reonvations starting next week for 2 months!!!! i go to the library at least 1 time a day for magz, dvds, books, and i am soooo sad that i wont be able to do this everyday anymore :(

Michelle, I know it'll seem like a long time til it's open again. Will they be sending a book mobile a few times a week to be outside the library? The branch around the corner from my mom's house had one. I'm sure they'll do the same. You could always ask staff if they're doing the same.
Believe me, Queens wouldn't let patrons go without their books!!!!

There are definitly other branches but none are accesible unless i take the bus, im gonna hafta go to the one in the other area when i get out of work but 2 months is a long time to have it not right down the block ya kno...ohhh i need to ask about this bus! its sucha shame ya kno

they say the upgrades they're doing will make the check-out process much faster since everything is done in one shot, rather than scanning each item.
2 months is needed because all new equipment and furniture needs to be installed like the circulation desk and computer stuff needed for that as well as the outside bookslot mechanisms and equipment. Believe me, it'll look great when it's done.
