Good Moment this Weekend!
So this weekend, my son wanted me to chase him around the park. I did for a bit, then got too tired so I noticed a little girl was following us. I pointed her out to my son and said you could ask her if she wants to play tag (she looked like she was about his age). He said "I can?" so I said "yes, you can."
So he actually did it and asked beautifully, with eye contact, a smile, more than I ever would have expected. We did not know this little girl which was HUGE for him. Unfortunately, she said no, though they did kind of/sort of play together on the slides after that.
Granted it took prompting, but I do not think I have ever seen him approach a child he doesn't know and ask her to play. He will say something if he is approached first (sometimes), but he has never initiated it.
