I saw them and they do look gross.
I'm not a fan of canned frosting anymore unless I'm in a total rush. I've been making it homemade -- it's SO much better!!!

Seriously. It's worth the extra 10 minutes prep time!
ETA: And who the hell are they kidding with those photos?! As if you could actually pipe that icing onto your cupcakes.

I don't like canned frosting either (unless it's funfetti, which holds a special place in my heart) but I don't see what the problem with these are. I mean I think it's silly that you would buy frosting to only have to dump it into a bowl and mix flavoring into it, but as a product in and of itself I don't see an issue. Maybe I'm missing something?

LOL that's my thoughts on it. I always make frosting homemade but I love trying out new items, especially the baking kind!

Canned frosting = gross
Canned frosting with fake flavors like cotton candy and creamsicle = more gross
Homemade frostings are way better and you an doctor them up with different flavors.

I had to google for them because I haven't yet seen them.
Looks pretty nasty...the flavors, blech.
I love homemade frosting but just as I love homemade mac and cheese and keep Blue Box in a special place in my WT heart, I also have a fondness for whipped vanilla frosting from a can.  That said, it's so terribly sweet that I usually get a sore throat from it for some odd reason.

I had no idea what the heck you were talking about so I had to google it. Goes to show how much I bake.lol
Gotta be honest. I don't have a problem with canned frosting. Always taste good to me.
But when I do bake the recipes I use seem to have a quick and simple frosting which I'll use over canned stuff any day

Well yeah, I never said that *I* would eat it, I just don't see the problem with the product per se, if someone was inclined to use canned frosting and liked weird flavors.

I actually made the mint chocolate icing for St. Patty's day. It was pretty good. The supermarket was out of green food coloring (cause I waited till the last minute of course), and then I saw the frosting creations so I decided to try it.

My friend makes her own frosting and I'm not a fan. I know that the canned ones are sweet--but her homemade one is way too sweet.

I don't like canned frosting - but I don't really make cupcakes for me. I make them for the girls for school. I saw them yesterday and while I didn't think they sounded good. I can definitely see kids asking for the cotton candy flavor or the bubblegum one. They didn't really look appetizing to me though.
