Phone interview questions?
I have applied for a job in the healthcare field. Apparently the recruiter will call me to do a phone interview & I have to get past this part to move on (even if the managers want to hire me). So what kind of questions are usually asked at this point? I'm told the questions are not healthcare related but questions to determine if you are a good fit for the hospitals philosophy & some situational ones . I have never had an interview like this before. I love this hospital & the people I will be working with & I know they really want me to work with them so I want to make sure I don't blow this part.
Any advise is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Phone interview questions?
I recently had an in person interview with an HR person before my actual interview and she asked a variety of questions not related to the position like...
1.) What can you tell me about what we do here? (Always research the place you could potentially work for and know some key facts you can throw out there to show you have done your homework.)
2.) What makes you want to work here as opposed to someplace else?
3.) What do you consider as a strength of yours?
4.) What do you consider as your weakness?
Other interviews I have been on ask the typical "life" questions like...
1.) Where do you see yourself in 5 years? - If you are working here -If you are not hired here
Also go thru your skills and experience and be sure to bring up any certifications or extra training you have that may put you higher on the list than other candidates.
Good luck!!

Re: Phone interview questions?
Take this interview very seriously. If you're already in good with the manager, your performance during this interview can only hurt you.
If it's a phone interview, make sure you're somewhere that's quiet and free of noise and distractions. And on a reliable, static-free phone.
If the focus is about your "fit" with the hospital's mission, then consider things like: - how do you demonstrate caring? - tell me about a time when you went the extra mile - demonstrate teamwork - demonstrate doing the right thing, even when it takes longer, is more complicated, etc. - how do you demonstrate "service" - how you worked with your manager to resolve questions/problems, etc.
good luck!!
