Bowling parties ...
Has anyone had one for their child? I am late to the game, the kids birthdays are less than a month away, but we decided last minute that they can have a party. We will just squeeze it into a weekend between the First Communion, Baptism and Memorial Day
I am doing a combined party, for both kids (6 and 8 years old).
If you had one, can you let me know which bowling alley and the approximate cost and what was included? I am decided between 300 Long Island and our local lanes (Syosset).
TIA for any info! I will call both places tomorrow after DH and I discuss budget tonight, I just wanted to see if I can get a heads up on costs since the websites don't list pricing!

Re: Bowling parties ...
I've been to ones at 300. The party rooms are kind of small but it's a nicer (cleaner) place than most bowling alleys. I also liked the set up more because you can watch the kids.
I was at a local bowling alley that was nerve wracking as the rest rooms were right by the exits & I was the one watching all of the kids

Re: Bowling parties ...
We had our dd's 5th bday party at our local wantagh AMF lanes. Like you, we were going back and forth for a while between our local alley and 300, but the price for 300 was ridiculous for a 5year olds party so we chose the cheaper option. but I did request that it be a glow in the dark bowling party, they shut off the lights, put the music up and I brought my own glow in the dark accessories. It was really cute and the kids had a lot of fun. I couldn't get the party room b/c it was already booked for my day but the tables right behind the lanes were fine since I only had like 12 kids. for the price (it was actually the cheapest party we've ever thrown for our dd) I couldn't ask for more. and the best part was that my dd got a bowling pin signed by all of her friends. I think all AMF lanes (including 300) have that as a party favor for the guest though.
Sorry the price was under $300 but I think that included the favors, and extra food for adults.

Re: Bowling parties ...
I chose a local place..Im in massapequa and used Farmingdale alley. Great price, got the end lanes, it was early enough that no one was there. Price was right....under $200!
Kids had a blast!

Re: Bowling parties ...
Wow! Thank you! Much better than I anticipated! We've been to several parties at 300 and my kids love the Back 9 (private) room, but I figured it would be big money.
We've also been to parties at Syosset and they were well run. I just think my kids like the idea of 300 better (it is nicer, I admit).
Ahh, nothing like waiting until last minute! Their birthday's are the weekend my oldest makes his First Communion, so we are buying ourselves some time by having to push it back a week or two!
Thanks so much! Any other info would be great!

Re: Bowling parties ...
I've been to 300 Long Island twice and thought it was great.
I was at a party at a local place in Levittown and it wasn't nearly as nice, but that was just that particular place. I'm sure other local places are great too.
Good luck!

I did AMF in Sayville, had heroes for parents and 21 kids and paid $600. Stick with the pizzas LOL

Re: Bowling parties ...
Had my DS' at our local bowling alley and it was a lot cheaper than 300. Of course, 300 is a lot nicer, but, the kids just wanted to bowl and eat pizza. LOL. (they were ages 4 and up).

Re: Bowling parties ...
I have been to both Syosset and 300 for birthday parties.. Both great... It is just what suits your needs better.
Syosset would be way cheaper than 300. Sometimes if you have a lot of kids and the back 9 is not taken for that day 300 will ut you back in there without the extra charge of using it.... That has happened to a couple of moms I know... Which is great.
I had my 40 th in the back 9. The service was impeccable.
I think you will not go wrong with either place...

Re: Bowling parties ...
We live in Levittown and have been to parties both at Levittown Lanes (which is really crumby IMO) and Wantagh Lanes, which I thought was so nice.
Also Wantagh lanes had more food choices for the parents such as wraps, coffee and cookies, etc. It was just so much nicer.
I've bowled at 300 but never been to a party there but it is a nice place!

My daughter just had her party at 300 on Saturday..it was over $600 for 21 kids and I didnt really like the party attendant. I thought the place looked great and the kids had a great time.

Re: Bowling parties ...
Although I have never had bowling parties, my dd has been to several. i found 300 much cleaner and nicer than Syosset. Syosset is often unorganized and the staff not particularly great....I would go with 300.

Re: Bowling parties ...
One more thing...I was annoyed that when 2 parents asked for coffees they were actually charged..I didn't realize it until they were handed a bill...here I am paying over $600 and they couldn't get a cup of coffee...

Re: Bowling parties ...
I took DD to a party at 300 yesterday. While the atmosphere is nice, the rest is so-so. I am going with our local lanes and have heard that I should go a little early to keep on top of them the day of the party...
Thanks for all the help and input!
