Can a person eat insects, and still be considered a vegetarian?
The "100 things to eat before you die" thread made me wonder about this. I understand that a lot of vegetarians don't want to kill animals for meat, but does that also apply to insects? Chocolate covered ants, or grasshoppers?
I'll eat insects (not still alive, though....), but I'll eat pretty much anything...

I don't think so. They would be a entomophagist, but so would a meat eater who ate insects, as far as I understand.
I am not sure if there is a word for a person who eats a vegetraian diet except for bugs.
This was kind of a funny Vegan's take on an anti-entomophagy campagin.

I just commented on the egg thread before I read this, I said most chickens aren't vegetarian which means the eggs are labeled wrong because all free range chickens eat bugs and sometimes frogs, snakes and mice. I'm not sure how non meat eaters feel about the source of the feed that produces their food.
