scared....update
I am a little over 5 weeks. I am going for a sono today and i am scared of what they will see...or really, what they WONT see.
My HCG levels are lagging, and while my levels went up 85% from Wednesday to Friday, my RE is still concerned. I went for more blood work today (I look like I have a drug problem with all the bruises in my arms!) and then the sono this afternoon; I'm not even sure what he'll be able to see.
i have spent the whole weekend worrying about today - now I dont want to go...I have been through miscarriage before and am so scared that i'm facing it again...Trying to stay positive, but fear is taking over!
it's going to be a long day!
update: well, my levels doubled from friday to monday...Based on when I ovulated, the dr expected my numbers to be in the thousands (i'm only at 450) and to see something (which they didnt). But he said he didnt want to end anything just yet; he wants to do more blood work and possible another sonogram at the end of the week to see how things progress. He did say that we need to be prepared for this not to be a healthy pregnancy.
I'm not surprised as they've been saying this all the while, but hurts just the same. We've been through miscarriage before - it just sucks. I know it's not officially over yet, but it's not looking good and this "well, we're not completely sure, so lets wait a few more days" is KILLING ME! I know that they dont want to do anything drastic too soon, but the waiting is pretty horrific.

I know the feeling but an 85% rise is excellent an keep in mind at 5 weeks they may not be able to see much of anything. Good luck

Do the best you can with staying positive. I know how hard it can be with the range of emotions before every single sonogram. Take deep breaths and just keep going!!

they did the sono on monday - still didnt see anything, but my numbers continue to increase (doubled from Fri to Mon)...the dr just doesnt want to rush to anything, so i got more blood work done this morning. Depending upon that I may go in for another sono. we'll see...
