Mother's Day advertisements are everywhere...

I totally understand. I lost my Mom in 1994 and each year it gets harder. As if it is not hard enough , and then to have it all over the place just makes it worse this week. I am here of you need to talk, feel free to FM mail me.

I totally understand. I lost my Mom in 1994 and each year it gets harder. As if it is not hard enough , and then to have it all over the place just makes it worse this week. I am here of you need to talk, feel free to FM mail me.

Apparently I was rude on what I wrote on FHF about cherishing your Mother on Mother's day. Oh Well, I guess if they walked a mile in our shoes they would understand. Just my feelings this week and all year. I miss my Mom terribly. I am very depressed over Mother's day.

Just popping over from FHF. I saw your post and read the pain. I am a 9/11 survivor and a victim of child abuse (my mother) so I know the sound of pain even if its just in words on a screen.
I am sorry for your loss. I know you meant no harm, but some will see it that way because you're right it is difficult to understand if you've never been there.
Me personally, I hate mother's day because I have no one I would consider a 'mother figure' in my life. But I have a daughter and so I spend every mother's day making sure she knows how much I love being HER mother. So she and I can have that mother/daughter bond I never had with my own.
I remember the first mother's day after the divorce (it was early 80s) and everyone was making cards for their mothers, but me. I sat in a corner and cried, which then the kids made fun of me because I was no-mama-veronica.
to all those here who've lost a mother they did love. Remember you had something that some of us (myself) never had. The love that was great enough to feel the sorrow you feel. Your sorrow shows your love is still there and that is beautiful even if it is painful.
Because when my mother dies I will feel nothing, no loss, no pain, no emotion other than relief that the charade is finally over.
