also saw my hemo,nothing like 3 docs in one day

leaving Dr.B was really bittersweet,gave everyone a hug and said thanks even though the word thanks cannot express how thankful we are to them

baby a was waving today measuring great!

so then we went straight to Dr.Kofinas..really really liked him and the office...he was very thorough...i have placenta previa,no heavy lifting and no sex(poor dh )..also my red blood cell count continues to drop since i became pregnant which meaning anemia

he is sending me for another 30 vile full thrombo panel,a 4 hr lovenox test, plus testing me for cystic fibrosis,spinal atrophy and said at 16 weeks they r doing a afp?? not sure why

here is the issue...he will not send me to university plaza ob's which i was under the impression i would be seeing...he wants me to see Dr.Pilliteri and then deliver out of good sam

we live in queens and good sam is at least a hr away no traffic and end of november with christmas shopping it will take 3 hrs to get there

i do not know what we r going to do,i like him very much but i am nervous about the trip..only other option was to see him and a ob in Brooklyn and deliver there which we do not want to

so i feel like we r back at square one...i gotta think,sorry this is so long

So exciting to graduate!

The tests for CF and SMA were done for me at Dr. B's office before starting IVF. Are you sure you didn't have them done there? DH and I both had them. Also, the AFP at 16 weeks is totally standard, high-risk or not.

I would call the dr and explain to him the situation with distance and see if he has someone else he recommends to you

Thanks everyone,I cannot pick a ob bc he only works with certain and they r kinda far from us and even after we explained our concerns he still would rather we go with who he suggested

that makes it difficult that he would only work with certain OBs, a one hour drive without traffice is not convenient at all when you go into labor!

have you met with any other Peris? Changing docs might be the only option

I would switch if I was in your situation. May I suggest North Shore Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist. They have an office in Great Neck on Northern Blvd and deals with only high risk cases. They would also do your delivery (all except Dr Rosenberg) so you won't be juggling between an OB and perinatologist. You see them for everything. I went to them in 2004 when I was preggo with ds and Dr Vohra did my csection. I had clotting issues (reason why I went to them). FM me if you would like more info.

I know the distance and traffic to dr. Pillitteri can be discouraging but I would trust whatever Kofinas says. He is going to make sure those babies make it to term and after everything you have been through you should feel secure in what he suggests.

My suggestion is to make all of your appointments with Pillitteri months at a time so you can get the day and times you want. Good Sam is right off the highway and there are many different ways to get there so I wouldn't worry about the traffic.
