I prefer to use baking bars for dipping things! Baker's brand or if you're feeling splurgey (just made up that word ) Ghirardelli baking bars!

They'll be fine. I've used them before, but I generally use the melting chips from Merkens or Make n Mold. I've used the Baker's melting bars as well.

It'll be perfectly fine to use the chocolate chips. In general though, for dipping things I use baking bars. I believe chocolate chips have something added to help them set faster.

Thanks, I couldn't find the good chocolate dics here in Boston.
Anyway of keeping them from melting to fast? They seem to sweat more. Also store in fridge or out in container. Last year I used the disc's and set in a cool room but I don't have a cool dry place year.
