Anyone have a radioactive iodine uptake test?

Yes. It's nothing.
You feel nothing. Annoying laying on that table ( i have post nasal drip so laying there with my head tilted back wasn't fun. But other then that... it's no biggie.
You will have to take the pill. Go back in a certain amount of hours for the test. Then go back 24 hours later for them to check you again.
Only precaution is when you urinate. You will have to flush the toilet 2x bc the radiation comes out through your urine.

Thank you for the info!! I actually just read that online about when you use the bathroom.
It seems like it's not as big of a deal as I thought originally.. At first the idea of anything radioactive made me nervous!

Yea I felt the same way the first time I went but my sister had gone before and told me it was nothing.
Long story short I eventually needed radioactive iodine treatment to destroy my thyroid and that too was nothing. Just couldn't be around babies, pregnant people or people with compromised immune systems.
Oh the thyroid.. what a funny little PIA
