Has anyone tried Yonana?

I tried Yonana at my FIL's house yesterday.. it was pretty awesome!! You put it frozen fruit (bananas .. strawberries.. blueberries... etc) and it turns it into an ice-cream consistency!

I'm considering picking one up tomorrow, I heard it's just 50 bucks! Anyone have this ?

Here's a link Yonana

Re: Has anyone tried Yonana?

I just bought one yesterday! Target had a sale (it ended yesterday) it was $49.99 and you got a $10 gift card!

So far we really like it.

I'm interested in it and love the idea, but I'm trying to figure out how it's different than taking frozen fruit and running it through a food processor (kind of like the pinterest posts with the frozen banana treats). I think DH will go crazy if I buy one more kitchen gadget unless I can justify it. I do want one though Chat Icon

Re: Has anyone tried Yonana?

I made this tonight in my food processor. It was giving me a really hard time with just the frozen banana so I poured in literally a splash of milk and it worked perfectly. I made a plain batch and one where we added a tbsp of nutella....holy yum!!!

Re: Has anyone tried Yonana?

I read 90% good reviews on BB&B, that is part of the reason I went ahead and bought it. Also, I figured if I got it home and it stunk....I'd just clean it up and return it. But, it works well, super easy!

I don't have a food processor, but I imagine it could do the same thing. I just love kitchen gadgets, last year I bought the Zoku and this year the Yonana...I have fun with them Chat Icon

Re: Has anyone tried Yonana?

i went to a cancer gala and they were giving these away.

i think it is awesome but i would never pay $50 for it.

you have to make sure you follow the instructions.
you have to use ripe bananas that are speckled with brown( b.c they are sweeter). The machine "churns" it somehow, which it gives you an ice cream texture. not somehting a food processor can do.

it's best to use 4 bananas. put the 2 banana in first , followed by blueberries or strawberries.. etc, and end it with the banana.
the last bananas help push the the rest of the fruit through b.c some gets left behind in the blender compartment.
if you only use 2 banana's it wont really yield much.

the machine also makes a really loud noise but it makes a delicious treat.
i like the machine.

Trust me...the food processor does the same exact thing. I've been making this in the food processor for years.

I was thinking the same thing - I could not justify that cost (and counter/cabinet space) for something that I have been doing forever in my mini prep. I use just frozen banana and I let it go to the consistency I want. I top it with chocolate sauce because I looove bananas and chocolate!

I got it and love it, its $40 with a bed bath coupon. (and I had a gift card for $25)! I must say it is quite amazing! I bought frozen strawberries and frozen mango and they came out delicious, my husband could not belive it was just fruit!
Its super easy to clean!

How do you make this in the food processor? I'm very interested because I have a great one that I barely use but I would love to make stuff like this!

Freeze sliced bananas and then just throw them in the food processor.

Has anyone tried Yonana?

I agree a blender or food processor could probably accomplish the same thing. I would hate to waste space in my kitchen in something that only has one function.
