Barbecue "Bars"
DH and I are having a big BBQ on Saturday, and I really like the idea of serving food "bar style"...like a burger bar.
So far, this is what I have:
We're doing to do a burger bar with ketchup, mustard, mayo, relish, pickles, sauteed mushrooms, sauteed onions, raw onions, lettuce, and tomato
For dessert, we're going to do an ice cream bar with chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, whipped cream, sprinkles, candies, and cherries
Does anyone have any other suggestions for a nice, summer time bar? Or any other suggestions to add to the existing bar?
We'd like to do hot dogs, chicken, and steak (plus some sort of appetizer), but we're flexible with the menu!

Re: Barbecue "Bars"
What about a hot dog bar, and base your selection of toppings on the menus from either Crif Dogs or Pink's? They're both popular hot dog joints.

(oh, the irony of a vegetarian touting the menus of hot dog places...LOL...they make soy dogs at Crif's, that's how I know of them!)

Salad bar!!!!
How about baked potato bar? You can grill them and they get a nice crispy skin. Or bake and cut them in half and serve as halves. You can have salsa, shredded cheeses( or cheese sauce), sour cream, veggies, bacon bits, chili...

Re: Barbecue "Bars"
for an appetizer, I say a nacho bar. or a salad bar.
also what about a drink bar, for beverages?
you can do a chicken fingers bar with different dips (ketchup, different barbeque sauces, honey mustard, blue cheese, etc.)

Re: Barbecue "Bars"
For DDs birthday we're doing a hot dog bar and a dessert/candy bar.

I was thinking of a berry shortcake bar too - you can have different kinds of berries, those individual shortcakes, and different kinds of whipped cream, lemon curd, etc.
