Dr. Silverman
We have an upcoming appointment. I understand past experiences have not been overwhelmingly positive. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for me in hindsight. Besides the paperwork, I have a list of questions for her, including a plan for the upcoming year.
Any other suggestions would be helpful. I just want to be as prepared as possible to make the appointment worthwhile.

Re: Dr. Silverman
My only suggestion to make the appointment worthwhile is to not even go Seriously, she is horrible. But, you might want to ask if you are going to get a written report of her findings (not sure why you are going...for a diagnosis, etc.). I was told she doesn't have time for that. I think if I had offered up $250 she would've made the time.

Re: Dr. Silverman
We saw her and she did nothing. I told DH we wasted our time. We were looking for a diagnosis and we finally got it through the schools psychologist during transition from EI to Pre-K. There was just something about her I didn't care for. I don't even rememeber what papers and stuff we brought with us. Probably all of DS' EI reports.

We see her every 6 months. She is definitely not warm and fuzzy! But she did give my son a diagnosis at 16 months old and she wrote out a prescription for ABA therapy which I was able to give to the county when requesting a change in EI services. In between visits, we see her nurse practitioner - she is super sweet and very knowledgable.

I don't use her but a friend of mine does. She LOVES her. Gives her advice on supplements, works on meds, deals with behavioral issues. I really think all doctors are subjective. Either you click or you don't. If your not paying out of pocket to she her, it wouldn't hurt to go. She might just be a good fit.
