CVS test or Amnio with twins
I have an appt. with a genetic counselor next week because I am thinking of doing the CVS (because it can be done so ealry) to rule out a baby with chromosone abnormalities. I am 36 will be 37 when I deliver, I am nervous of course of miscarriage.
Did those of you that had this test with multiples, do so because of poor screeening test results, or just because you wanted to know the health of the babies?
I just keep wondering if I really should do this given the risks? What prompted you to go for this test, and did you have adverse effects?
TIA

I opted not to do either because there were no red flags.
Are there specific red flags that you or your doctor would be checking for?

Re: CVS test or Amnio with twins
I went through with the CVS, because there was some issues with baby C that they wanted to be sure of, so pretty much I had no choice, but I'm very happy we decided to do it. I now have two healthy babies and it gave me piece of mind throughout my pregnancy.
Good luck!

Re: CVS test or Amnio with twins
No red flags other than my age. I am looking for peace of mind, and also have a nagging worry, that one twin will have something wrong that could affect the other twin, and I suppose the earlier we know the better, if there are decisions to be made. I don't know, I guess just talking to the genetic counselor is step one, which I will do on Tues.
I just so want to have TWO healthy babies, and not risk their lives unnecessarily...
Wishing4baby, where did you go for the test, do you have a Dr. that you would recommend?

I went to Dr Kofinas and he is an amazing doctor. He is located in Garden City.

CVS test or Amnio with twins
i am 32 and was pregnant with a singleton and identicla twins. At week 8 one of the identicals vanished. We were worried that the remaining identical might have an genetic issue because her twin didnt survive so we wanted to make sure. We tested both babies and both came back perfect! So we think baby c vanshed because of blood flow/placenta issue. It was great to get the sexes so early, too! I started my shopping ASAP! Also I went to Dr. Joanne Stone @ Mount Sinai.
