What do I do? Meeting - help pls

I have been at my job for 8 months and am due to take next week off. My boss approved this time. Today I followed up with her on a bunch of idas and she writes back that she wants me to sit in on a marketing meeting next week - all week. My dept has never participated in these. so this was an afterthought.

I reminded her that I am on vacation (she said she forgot) and supposed to go away mon/tues for a special occasion. Said that I am happy to come in weds - fri and if she wants me mon/tues I will come in for that too but if possible would like to stick to my plans of going away for those two days. i said just if you want me mon/tues i need to know by the middle of this week so i don't lose my hotel deposit. She says no worries just prepare this and that and give it to me. Tells me not to disrupt my vacation. I said ok but if you change your mind let me know and I will come in. She says it's up to me but it would be great if I could do a half day weds. I said no problem and she seemed happy. the meeting is tues - thurs and a lot of it wouldn't be relevant to my dept.

Tonight I tell dh and he tells me that I shouldn't be taking off a full week at all, ever, because it is my first year there. Then he says I shouldn't be taking off next week at all bc of this meeting.

Is he right? he is making me feel guilty. My boss seemed very happy to have me there for a half day when I am supposed to be on vacation.

i am thinking of reaching out to her one more time and telling her that i realize how important the meeting is and it is no problem at all to reschedule my plans and to just let me know if she sure she is okay with me on weds for a half day only. is that a good idea?

Don't feel guilty, take your days!

I work for a place where they don't care if you take what is entitled to you, BUT if you offer to do stuff that is above and beyond, they won't turn THAT down either.

Especially if it can benefit THEM in any kind of way.

thanks but guilt got the best of me. i told my boss i am coming in weds - friday next week.
