6yr Birthday Party?????????
I did the Aviation Museum last year and it was wonderful but exhausting!!! I feel like we've done the bowling already and bounce places. I asked DS and he really wants McDonalds party!! I was very surprised. I would totally go for it but I'm worried many parents wouldn't like the whole unhealthy aspect. What would you mommies do? Would you turn down the invite if it was Mickey Dees?

Re: 6yr Birthday Party?????????
Honestly, before LIF I had no idea there were moms who would literally turn down a McD's invite because of the food. I don't think the majority of people are that strict. Besides, most parties involve pizza, some sort of unhealthy cake, and that godawful bright red fruit punch-- it's not like they're serving quinoa pilaf and breast milk smoothies.
I often feel there is this big disparity between LIF and real life.

Re: 6yr Birthday Party?????????
We only eat fast food/McDonalds 1-2 times a year, like when we travel long trips.
I still would not turn down a McDonalds party, and I would have one there if my kids asked for it.
I'm okay with McDonalds on the rare occassion and birthday would be one of them.

I wouldn't turn it down. DD only gets McD's a few times a year when there is a toy she really wants in the Happy Meal, lol.

I personally have no issue with McDonalds once in a while. My kid wants his party at Chuck E Cheese and that's a far cry from healthy food.

Re: 6yr Birthday Party?????????
We've been to a party at the one in Hicksville and the kids had a blast. I am not an anti-MCD mom. Life happens.
The kids meals now come with a tiny fry and apples, so I would request that and maybe milk and apple juice versus soda.
All of the other party places serve pizza, is that really any better?

I would not attend. Believe it or not- the food not being the cause! The McD's play area skeeves me out like no other. JMO.

Re: 6yr Birthday Party?????????
We would turn it down, but only because my son has multiple food allergies and he can't eat anything there but the apple slices.

ITA. My DS doesn't even eat pizza at the bday party's. He doesn't like it. If I were to host a McDs party, I'd ask for some yogurt parfaits as well (if possible).

Re: 6yr Birthday Party?????????
Thanks ladies.. I gave him the option of a swim party, movies, or laser tag and he still wants McDonalds party!!! haha.. and we don't go there often. There is a really nice one by us with a huge play area and he saw a bday party in action one day and I guess that's where it stems from. I'll be honest, when I was a kid, I never had even one birthday party and always wanted a mcdonalds party.. remember how fun it was in the 80's? I still have time to decide bc DS birthday is in the fall but thank you all for your input.

If that's what he really wants, then go for it! I would guess that very few people would not go simply because it's at McDonalds.

Re: 6yr Birthday Party?????????
My 6 year old DD also wanted one at McDonald's. I too was worried about what the parents would think. I ended up having it there, and almost all of the kids came! If that is where he wants it, have it there!
ETA: just know that they don't close the play area to other kids during your party. It did get kind of hectic, but all the kids had a great time.

Re: 6yr Birthday Party?????????
I would go, it would phase me in the least.
If you are looking for another suggestion, check out gymnastics. I had my daughters 5th birthday this year at a real gymnastics place and all the kids loved it, including my 6 year old son. The kids ranged in age from 2-11 and they were all tired. It was probably one of the best parties I had out, next to My Gym.
