Drinking?
So i found out that i definitely lost the baby last Wed and then went to a family party on Sat. I had a tiny glass of wine there (watered down with ice) it was the first time I had drank any alcohol in 2 months... I felt really weird about drinking again. Especially since I haven't had the D&C yet. My friend is visiting this weekend from NJ and we were gonna meet some of my other friends for happy hour tomorrow. Should I still be avoiding alcohol until after or do you think it's ok? I know I am having a hard time admitting that the baby is gone and there is this part of me still trying to protect it. But being able to drink is really the only upside to this situation I can think of and I don't want to sit there at the bar dwelling on my loss- I just want to enjoy my time with my friends and distract myself from my sadness! I also don't want it to make me sick either. Honestly I don't want to drink a lot- but maybe a few beers. Do you think it's ok?

Re: Drinking?
I found out about my first m/c on December 13. I wasn't scheduled for my D&c until the 23rd (due to my work schede). DH's company Christmas party was on the 17th. I had one final appointment that morning (17th) and asked my OB "so at this point we're pretty much saying its over". She said yes and I took that as a green light to go ahead and drink my sorrows away at the party that night. Everything was fine and I had the D&c as planned the following week.

Re: Drinking?
It's fine. I found out my pregnancy wasn't viable on Nov 17. I was scheduled for my D&C on Nov 28. Since I was hosting Thanksgiving and planned to tell the family then, I definitely had a few drinks to drown my sorrows. They still did the D&C without any problems. Go have a few drinks!

Re: Drinking?
oh yes...I think so. I know if it were me I'd be drinking! I've gotten this news multiple times and always tried to make myself feel better with sushi and a cold Sapporo. Have a drink.
