School District Reccomendations

My friend has a child with PDD-NOS. Her son is currently receiving services through her school district and she isn't very happy with their program and would like to send him out of district. Can anyone recommend a school district that has an excellent program? She is located on the South Shore of Long Island.

His issues include some speech delays, behavioral issues, intense focusing. He has an above average IQ and to the outsider he appears "normal".

her school district usually pairs up with a few others when they need to district out students... if they aren't, i can tell you it can take YEARS to get them re-districted.

N. Bellmore has an amazing program... Seaford Harbor has an amazing program, East Meadow does too.

but... it really all depends on her child... and how long she is willing to fight. it took a friend of mine 4 years to re-district her child... and it wasn't cheap.
