Uses of coconut oil?
Ive been seeing coconut oil everywhere. I picked up a jar of organic virgin coconut oil in trader joes today and was wondering what you would recommend using it for.

I just used it in my vegan, organic, gluten free protein muffins- I will let you know how it comes out
you can also use it as a mositurizer
it's the kind of fat your body doesn't store
I mainly use the cooking spray version

I love coconut oil. I put a tablespoon in my smoothies. I cook with it (I don't use processed oils at all). I use it as a moisturizer for both my hair and skin. I use it a a deep conditioner. I use it on my son's chapped lips.

I use it in my homemade protein bars & I like to fry carrot chips in it.

I am african american so your experience will probably be different. I put it on my hair and don't rinse out. I also put it on wet skin after a shower or dry skin any other time. A little goes a long way so you don't have to use a lot. it's not greasy at all.

I have to add, i literally replace anything that asks for butter, margarine, or oil with coconut oil and it is almost alway amazing.

Does it give things a coconutty taste? I actually love coconut but not in everything. Sounds interesting. Thanks for the info everyone! Started using it during DD's diaper changes!

I take a teaspoon of it pretty much every morning. Over time I can definitely see a difference in my skin, nails and hair.
