Do you travel carry-on only?
I usually try to, but it often falls through. Anyone else?

WHen possible, yes. When not possible, no.
Sorry I guess I wasn't much help!!!!
Basically, if I can fit everything into 1 bag and not be hampered down by extra tote bags and all, then yes. But I'd rather check my bag than try to carry TOO much carry-on.
And I get PO'd at people on the plane who don't check and should have!! They take up all the compartment space and that is just rude and inconveniences everyone else, IMO.

I have a packing problem, so I think out of all the travelling I do, maybe I've been able to do it once 
But I agree with Kara. I CAN NOT STAND people on the plane who don't check and should have!! They hog up all the room and they get mad when all the space is taken up by people's humongo bags and then they DELAY THE FLIGHT because they don't friggin' sit down!!!
GRRRRR a BIG pet peeve of mine.

You are speaking my language, sista!! I HATE THAT , and I cannot believe it still happens when *supposedly* the airlines were going to "Crack Down" on this!!

On every flight I've been onm recently they've been really srict. I remember having to take my flip flops out of an ourer comaprtment on my luggage and shove them into my purse so the bag would fit through the size thing. It's SO much more convenient carry-on only but it's SO hard. I remeber my last flight to FL I was so happy to have done carry on only. I had my pilot's case as my carry on and a large tote as my personal item..well you know how they xray your stuff? I had to empty the tote all over the table b/c they saw something in the xray machine, and I had taken care to fit as much in there as possible, but tere they were taking out my underwear, and persnal items ans EVERYTHING to find my CHANGE at the bottom *sigh*. Then it took me 10 min to fit everything back in, so the time we would ahve saved was wasted. Oh well!

We can usually get away with just carry-on for trips that are 5 nights or less, which covers 95% of our airtravel. Anything longer then that and we need to check.

When I travel for business and if I'm going away for one or two nights I carry-on - otherwise, I always check-in.

I just wanted to add my carry-on pet peeve...when people put their bags over other people's seats. I was on one flight where people sitting towards the back of the plane put their bags in the bins near the front so they wouldn't have to carry it through.
