Nurses looking for a little extra money

You might want to check with your local school district(s) to get on the list to be a substitute nurse.

At our PTA meeting today our principal said there is a need for substitute nurses in the district. There are new rules from NYS for the children who have medication in the nurse's office (epi-pen, inhaler, etc). If the child goes on a field trip a parent or person designated by the parent has to go on the trip to be responsible for the medication and to administer it. If a parent or designee can't go, the school nurse or a substitute nurse must go on the field trip, thus creating a greater need for nurse subs.

I have NO idea what kind of pay it typically is.

Thanks for sharing! My mom is a LPN and I just checked the website for the district she lives in and they are looking for substitute RNs and LPNs. They actually had it on the front page, the first topic under news. I sent my mom the info.
