When are organized team games of kids usually scheduled? (basketball, soccer, etc)

When are most games of school aged kids scheduled? For ex, basketball, soccer, etc? Saturdays around what time? Any usually on Sunday or are most on weekday nights? Trying to come up with a party date and not sure what is the norm for those in organized sports?

I think it really depends on the location and age of the children. By me - baseball is both weekends (mostly saturdays if I remember correctly) and weekdays. Soccer practice is both weekdays and weekends and games on Sundays (but depends on league- one son plays games sat and sun for one of his 2 teams). Basketball is just weekends in the league we play. Times of games vary even on weekends from early am to midday.

I'd ask to see what you childs best buddies play and get a general idea and then do what works best for you.

Yes.



They are all over the place. Like PP mentioned, different sports are at different days and times, so no matter when you pick, there's a chance that someone has a game or practice. I have my soccer practices Saturday morning, so the afternoons are free for everyone. Our games are mid afternoon on Sundays. Some baseball games are on Saturdays, and some are on Sundays. I know some coaches have practices during the week.

Last spring DS played t-ball and his games were both Saturday and Sunday from middle of April until first week of June and the times ranged from 9am until 3:30.

This fall DS and DD were in soccer and they only had Saturday games. The time were either 8:45, 9 or 10:15. DS had practice Thursday nights.

I notice they start to have practice around 1st grade.

all different days and times, especially for age groups.

DD plays soccer. She has it on Saturdays at 2 pm. other ages groups are before and others after!

Basketball has one practice during the week at 6 pm for an hour. Basketball games are Saturday morning, at 9, 10, 11 or 12!

Soccer moves to Sunday in the spring because baseball is on Saturdays. Games are anytime from 10 am to 3 pm.

It all depends on the sport age etc. For us our soccer games are on sundays anywhere from 8:30 am to noon start time.

Practices are saturday afternoons and tuesdays.

Ugh, it's all weekend through the first weekend in Nov.! As others said all different times. We have baseball on Sat's at 2 and Soccer on Sundays at 11:30 but, the different age groups have before and after us pretty much all day long!

ETA: I agree with asking around - it's the best way to pick a time! For us all DS's friends are on the same teams so it's easy to know the time and all DD's friends have siblings DS's age so that helps too!

DC are in a large soccer league. Weekday practice and games Saturday and/or Sunday Between 12-4 (shifts each week)

Our soccer games are on Saturdays and the time rotates between 9 and 1.

They are all different. There isn't too much going on during the winter though. I would just plan the party for whatever day works best for you.
