Introduction

My name is Kate. I went for a follow up sono today i was 9 weeks 6 days, and there was no longer a HB, the baby stopped growing somewhere over 2 weeks ago. Im sorry for all of you loses, and look forward to talking with all you. God bless.

i'm so sorry for your loss :( the d&c is harder emotionally than it is physically. since they put you to sleep for it, it's really fast and then after you will have some cramping and bleeding but it's not that bad. it's the emotional part of the loss that's harder to get through :( sending you lots of hugs!

So sorry for your loss. I've been there twice over the past year and had a D&C both times. The actual procedure really is not too bad at all. You are under anesthesia so you do not feel any pain during the procedure. The hardest part of it all was the emotional aspect.

The procedure is fairly quick and I was in the hospital for a total of 3-4 hours. Right after the surgery I felt absolutely fine physically (although everyone is different). I took it easy the rest of the day and went back to work the following day with no problem both times. I bled for about a week and then had a normal cycle the following month.

As I said, it was toughest emotionally, however, both times we stayed optimistic about eventually having a healthy pregnancy and that is what got us through it all. I am now pregnant and due in a couple of weeks so stay positive! I look back and can't believe what we've gone through over the past year but you do get through it all. Hugs to you...I had a D&C but laparoscopic as well to remove my ectopic. I didn't really bleed badly, it was like a light period for a few days. Everyone is different.

Wishing you an easy recovery and know that you are not alone. It is devastating, but so many of us have gone through this. May you be back on the pregnancy board in no time with happy news

Hi, i just went thru a similar situation!! it sucks and im soo sorry you are going thru it!

The D&C itself was not bad...but im not gonna lie it was kind traumatic! they call the procedure a missed abortion! and altho i know thats not what i was there for it made me feel like it was. I had minimal cramping and bleeding right after the procedure, until 5 days after i started having heavy bleeding and a ton of clots! it was scary...that last 2-3 days and now im back and barely bleeding again! hopefully this is the end..ive heard different stories that some bleed longer. i have to go back in a week or so for a follow up apt with my dr. i hope the bleeding is gone by then!
