What are you doing tomorrow with your students?
Trying to debate on how to handle tomorrow. I teach HS. Any suggestions would be great.

Completing the square. I'm doing an abbreviated lesson and then a lot of class work. They're going to want a semblance of normal but they're going to need to discuss the past week.
I know my own kids, 8th and 11th grade, are annoyed that they don't go back until Wednesday. They miss their friends and their routines

Re: What are you doing tomorrow with your students?
I teach children with autism and ED. We are going to do a journal writing about what did they do last week. We also talk about emotions daily. If some of my students want to talk about it we will if not business as usual.

We usually have "Feelings Friday" where we sit on my rug and I teach a feelings word, then we take turns telling a story when we felt that emotion. I am going to modify it and we are going to do it tomorrow, and I will let them tell a story using a previous word about something that happened during the week.
I do Emotional Literacy, so we talk about feeling everyday. They are used to my hippy ways.

Sure! We use the Emotional Literacy curriculum, and I co-teach a period with the counselor where we do "Fill-A-Bucket" and the kids share what they did to fill a bucket during the week. We also use a couple other curriculums-Social Smarts is one great one. Then I do one period in the afternoon where I teach a new feeling word ( from a list that the EL people gave us) and then we all take turns tells a story about a time that we felt that word. Then at the end of the day, I turn the lights low, turn on yoga music and we journal quietly for a while. I also try to do read-alounds of socially-themed books (like my favorite-Hands Are Not For Hitting:) and we do the mood meter.
Its a fun day, and I like sending them home all positive and centered. :)

I love this, I sort of wish I was your student the yoga music and journal writing sounds so cathartic
