Dark crusty pimply thing on my Min Pin!!!
Someone talk me down!!!
My 2 yr old Min Pin, Maple, has a lump behind his ear. At first I thought it was a tick, but on closer inspection, it is a small dark crusty lump ( I have removed many ticks from dogs to recognize its different)
I am so worried its something worse. My cat died of melanoma, and he had a lump like this.... But he was 12.
I will schedule a vet appointment after the holiday weekend, but can anyone tell me if dogs just get these and it is probably nothing???? I could really use the reassurance now!

My dog gets things like thisallthe time. They are pimples that crust over, or that she licks until irritated and they scab over. May be nothing.

Aww little Maple.
Don't worry. My Min Pin Fred has a few little growths and skin tags on him too.
The Dr. just keeps an eye on them with each visit.
They are also prone to getting fatty tumors, so be prepared. We had one removed from just under his tail, it was getting bigger and may have interfered with his BMs. He now has another one on his side that is just being monitored. I've been calling him lumpy

Same for my dog, they aren't harmful at all! Hoping it's the same thing for your pup.

My dog has these. The vet said they were skin tags that he scratched at.

Thanks everyone! On closer inspection its definitely a scab! I am becoming more neurotic about my dog than I ever was about my son!!!!
