List of what you will need with twins

Anyone care to share? Chat Icon

I have 1 of (mostly) everything and will be checking out consignment sales and yard sales of course, but I was wondering: Do I need 2 swings? 2 exersaucers? Or do I just get 1 exersaucer and 1 jumperoo and then they take turns?

I found out I am having 1 boy and the other we still can't tell (maybe a girl :)) so I am set with newborn clothes for the most part.

1: exersaucer, jumparoo, pnp.
2: rnp, high chair, bouncers, swings

I think that's all the big stuff.

Re: List of what you will need with twins

we are relying very heavily on 2 exersaucers at the moment. we also like that they drag very easily into different rooms. Also, our physical therapist is against using a jumperoo. It is also seriously cute at the moment that they can reach each other in the exersaucers. so it is double the entertainment. It is amazing how entertaining sticking your finger in your sisters ear can be!

2-bouncers (I liked the FP ones, because they have a decent seat. so when you are carrying 2 babies you can slide one in and then the other and not have to worry about strapping in the first baby that second)

2-swings (we had 1 big one and one that the was a frame that the car seat snapped into. We ended up buying a second car seat one because they collapse and saves us some space, but they run on batteries :()

2-bouncers
2-boppies
2-pack and plays for traveling

we didnt use rnp's. they shared a pack and play, set at an angle, in our room for months

Good luck!

We have the same thing over here...except it is sticking the finger in each other's mouth...which apparently is ABSOLUTELY hilarious until someone gets bitten... Chat Icon

Re: List of what you will need with twins

We have singles of almost everything since we are in an apartment and space is very limited.

2 cribs
2 boppys
2 high chairs
2 rock n plays

1 snug a bunny swing
1 travel swing
1 pack n play (borrowed a friend's for vacations)
1 jumperoo
1 car walker
1 360* toy (hard to describe, it has a base they walk around)

We never got an exersaucer b/c we had the jumperoo and didn't have space. I def wouldn't get 2 of both - but if you have room 1 of each would be perfect.

Re: List of what you will need with twins

I had two of the following -

Bouncers (because they take up very little space)
RNP (they slept/napped in these for the first 4 months in our room)
Cribs
PNP (mainly used for when we stay at my sister's in NJ...but I already had 1 from DS so I just picked up an extra)
booster seats (I don't do high chairs. feel like take up too much room and it is just easier to have them sit at the table with us)
boppys (although I didn't even need one. Thought I'd use them for propping on the floor but wound up being too afraid DS would step on them)

I had 1 of the following -
Swing
Exersaucer
Jumperoo
My Breast Friend Pillow (awesome for tandem nursing)
Activity mat

I mainly had 1 of each of the above because they are big and take up a lot of space. It was easier just to switch them around when they got bored of one thing.

I have 1 swing, bouncer, jumperoo and pnp. 2 cribs and 2 high chairs. I got 1 of a lot of things because I wasn't sure what my babies would like. I read on here that some pple bought 2 swings but the babies preferred the bouncer. So instead of buying too much we went with less and depending on what they like then we may get a 2nd. We haven't been home for long but so far I don't think we would need 2 of everything.

Re: List of what you will need with twins

For us.. I'll list what we bought and what w already have (you probably have much of the same). I know for us, it was a little different having twins AFTER a singleton, because we were on a much tighter budget and didn't want to go overboard.

2 Rock N' Plays (new)
1 PNP (had)
1 bouncy seat (had)
1 swing (had)
1 exersaucer (had)
2 cribs (had 1, bought 1)
1 highchair (had)
1 space-saver highchair (had)
[we could probably use 2 highchairs, but it saved us money to just use the one we already have and then use the one that attaches to the seat for one baby]
2 boppy pillows (had 1, bought 1)
1 gym mat/tummy time mat

Babies were in the NICU at first... Hudson 2/14-3/1 and Stella 2/14-3/10 so we had plenty of time to get things ready. I literally ordered their crib the day I went into labor (unexpectedly).

They were in RNPs for naps mostly. After that they shared a crib (we also partially coslept). Then we switched Logan to a toddler bed and used his old crib.

I'm always here if you need help with anything! They are almost 10 months now and we hardly use the exersaucer anymore... they like to roam free! Of all of those items above, the only things we are still using are the highchairs and cribs.
