How long can chicken stay in the freezer? I want to start using up meat etc.

Chicken?
I think 3 months is my limit, after that no matter what I seal it in it gets freezer burn. I try not to stock too much chicken because I am constantly buyiong fresh and by the time I get to what I have in the freezer it's bad.
