Sorry if dumb, but how soon after AF...
can I start BDing? AF leaves tomorrow...if I BD this weekend, are my chances good or do I have to wait until later?

What CD day are you? Are you charting? If not, how long did AF stay -that should give you an idea when you should BD.

I don't chart. AF lasts 6 days...4 of those are "heavy".

"Normally" they recommend BD starting around CD10. So, your probably don't have much of a chance until after the weekend on Monday, which would be your CD10.
Not sure if you plan to BD every other day, or daily, but they "recommend" (sorry I use quotes but everyone's different so I'm just suggesting what most MDs recommend for a couple first TTC) BDing between days 10-16. So have fun Monday thru the following weekend or so !

Have you given any thought to trying OPK's? I only ask because I found out only after using them that I don't ovulate until CD 18!!

I think CD 10 is when you should start and then I think every other day or so.
Do you take your temp? You can do that without really charting....I knew on Saturday that I ovulated, we BDed on Sunday morning and I got pg.

Definitely charting and OPKs help - I have PCOS and they are pretty sure I O most months but they think that when and if I do it is very irregular so my doctor just suggested we BD every day and as frequently as possible for the whole month

We just came from the dr and were told that EVERYBODY should be BD'g every three days during your cycle and every other day when you know you're fertile. He said it's to keep the swimmers strong. Every day "doing it" can weaken the spermies and you want strong ones who will swim, swim, swim!!
He said just do it this way so that you're covered since they can survive for an average of three days in there, no temping, no charting, just relax and like Nike says:
Just do it!!

If AF started a week ago today - then today is CD7 - making Sunday CD9.
Most MDs recommend BD'ing 10, 12, 14, 16. But it shouldn't hurt to start CD9. I did 9, 11, 13 this month and ovulated CD14 - so that should (fingers crossed) work out well.

I think that is horrible advice if you only do it every three days you could miss your O. I would NOT follow that advice.

From my understanding - she was saying to BD every 3 days when you are NOT fertile, and every other day when you are. I never heard of BD'ing during non-fertile times, but it couldn't hurt!
