Ok...I think I messed up regarding DD kindergarten assignment.

At the beginning of the year DD came home with a shoebox. in it was a note to keep all the little stapled together, "books" they made in class inside it. Basically just books about the abc's and what not, that had been colored in. These books wind up all over the house so I kept them in a folder. Nothing was ever done with them. In a mass cleaning binge, I threw out a bunch of DD's class work, because really, I can't keep it all.

So of course, the homework assignment is to read five of these books, and list them. I threw them all out! I have to tell the teacher.

What would you say?

I feel so stupid for throwing them out now.

I would just write the teacher a note and explain the issue. Then I would have her read a couple of board books and list those. I have to agree, keeping every slip of paper that comes home would be insane. I do have a folder of stuff to, but it gets purged monthly and I only keep the best stuff.
