Re: Work at home jobs
Does anyone have a work from home job? Yep. I work 2 jobs from home. One is a full time management position and one is more of my own business/contracting. Questions below refer to the FT job.
Does it pay well? Ehhh. It pays ok, but the benefits are good.
What kind of hours do you put in a day? I'm supposed to work 9 hours including a lunch break, but I find I work much more based on my responsibilities and my own lack of time management skill
Is it stable income? yes, absolutely. It's a salaried position.
FM if you would like!

Does anyone have a work from home job? Yes, I work FT from home.
Do you mind sharing what company? It's an education company.
Does it pay well? Considering the flexibility, the fact that I don't have to commute, yes, it's not bad. Good benefits too.
What kind of hours do you put in a day? 8 hours or so, sometimes I jump back on at night to work
Is it stable income? Yes, it's full-time.
Thought I would share this article, because I think a lot of people think they want to WFH, but it's not what it seems.

Re: Work at home jobs
Does anyone have a work from home job? I have the ability to work from home, but generally do not. I get more work done in the quiet of my office.
Do you mind sharing what company? I work for a large home care company that provides services throughout NY State, NJ and Florida.
Does it pay well? For my industry, yes. Only thing that sucks is they don't pay for family health insurance. I still frequently get bonuses though so that is a positive.
What kind of hours do you put in a day? Generally a 35-40 hour work week.
Is it stable income? Yes. I get paid weekly. Because of people not being consistent with submitting their expense checks, we now have to do that weekly as well, so that's another plus.

Re: Work at home jobs
Anyone know of any that are hiring? I used to work from home when I had my own business so I am ok with that side of it.

Re: Work at home jobs
I have to say that my DH works from home and he is ALWAYS working. There is no separation of work and home, and since he has no set hours he gets calls/emails anytime, any day.
There is no way he could have a child home with him full time while he is working.
ETA it is stable income, like any other job. He is on salary.

I agree with this. There is no separation so it's a lot of stress. When I worked in one office I'd rock on to music in ym car on the way home and the other office I'd get 2 hours of reading in on the train, but now I work and then there's all of the work of the day/house, so it's stressful, plus I have no "end" point. ALWAYS working, and it can be isolating. Just chit chatting with co-workers about TV, or be able to turn around and ask for advice or say "can you BELIEVE what this lady just said to me?!" are really stress relieving and therapeutic. You lose all of that. You also THINK you'll have more time to exercise but for me at least I'm ridiculously sedentary. I barely leave this desk whereas before I'd go out to lunch, walk around, just walk around the office to talk to co-workers, etc
My company IS hiring right now
