"The 19th Wife"

I have seen it very briefly mentioned on here when I did a search but not discussed

I had heard it was an amazing book but it has beeen a STRUGGLE just to get finished with it. I have even read other books in between. I will finish today but yikes!

Re: "The 19th Wife"

ok, Im not the only one then!
I am still stalling on the last 20 pages!!!!

I found the historical section more interesting but the way it kept breaking off into different stories during different periods...and it was too long in that sense. I would be concentrating on the Bringham era for awhile than suddenly in the present

just lost my interest and never got into it

I read this a couple years ago, and while I never shy away from a long book, I did lose interest at the end. The story was engaging, both the past and present aspects, but it was just dragged out way too long. I skimmed the last hundred or so pages because I did want to see how it ended. Also, it was made into a movie which I'd like to see at some point.
