Summer School - Public High School
Does anyone know what the conditions have to be for a high schooler in NYC to be send to summer school?

The student would have had to not earn the credit for a class that he/she was taken during the course of the year. Summer school is 45 hours of course work. Runs from 7/5 through 8/16. Classes are 1.5 hours long

Our summer school was 9 days at 5 hours a day.

Summer School - Public High School
Students are labelled PID (promotion in doubt) based on credit accumulation rates - any student who is on track to earn less than 10 credits for the school year can be mandated to attend. I believe our letters will be going out within the next week or so. Big B is right - for students to earn credit they would have to make up 45 hours of coursework. There are programs that do targeted credit recovery with less time requirements but with stricter mandates those are few and far between.
