I am seriously thinking about looking into it, but I'm worried about the payout. If it was closer to home and I was able to drop off and pick up my own kids from school, and not have to pay someone, that could make up the difference in salary. I am in my 11th year and I have 30 above my masters. Any input greatly appreciated.TIA

i have no information about the catholic school system but i would imagine it would be a significant pay decrease.
another thing to think about is your pension.

I don't remember specific numbers, but I remember their salary being incredibly low when I was looking as recently as a year ago.
Also, they have done very little hiring and jobs are unstable because of all of the schools that they are closing.

The starting salary for someone with a master's is about half of what someone starting out in a public school would get.
