[Color Run] Brooklyn NY - July 6th & 7th

Color Run to benefit the Children's Cancer and Blood Foundation, July 4th weekend. It's a 5k but it doesn't look like something to get serious with unless you're at the head of the pack! More like a party with a jog in between. 
If you create/register with a team, it's $50 now but will go up the closer you get to the event.

I'm totally wearing a tutu.

An article on last year's event... Looks like there's a big danger of getting sold out, so you should register now!
Sunday's Color Run in Brooklyn was not like an ordinary race, as participants in the 3.1-mile event ended up covered in colorful powder and paint.
Runners of all age groups and fitness levels had to wear white shirts, and volunteers at each kilometer of the 5k path threw a different colored powder made of food-grade cornstarch at the participants.
At the endpoint in Gateway Recreational Area in Marine Park, the runners were given packages of paint that they threw into the air as part of a "color extravaganza" and dance party.
Organizers said tickets for the two-day event sold out in a few hours and that many people who might not take part in 5k runs were attracted by the chance to become walking canvases showered with color.
"I'm not a runner at all. I hate running and it did not even feel like a 5k," said participant Sarah Murray. "I got dirty, I ran hard and this is what I came back with," said participant Dale Frisco, who was caked in pigment. "Every time there was a countdown, 10 to one, I would go nuts. I would run to the crowd and you see all the colors, everywhere. It's insane," said participant Shanie Menahemov.
The Color Run is a nationwide event that was first held this year in Arizona and it is already in 60 cities.
Brooklyn's run benefitted the Police Unity Tour and Tuesday’s Children, an organization that helps families and individuals affected by the September 11th terrorist attacks.

Def go for the tutu! I am part of an obstacle course racing team and that is part of our 'uniform' (along with knee-high socks that say bad@ss and point up :) EVERYONE loves the tutu. You'll hear funny, nice comments.
